The fifth UK Subs studio album, from 1983, remastered - not available on CD for years. With extra tracks from singles; and now with bonus CD "Gross-Out USA" - plus three never-before released demo tracks, including an unheard song. Packaged in an all-card 6-panel sleeve with unseen band photos. Albums "F" and "G" in the UK Subs A-Z series of albums. The album was not available on vinyl for nine years. Now with a new inner bag featuring all the lyrics and unseen band photos. A limited edition, transparent yellow ochre vinyl with improved original sleeve art. Punk had become unfashionable, and the early line-ups had split leaving Charlie Harper to form a new band. He enlisted early Subs bassist Steve Slack (who"d left before their first recordings, replaced by his brother), drummer Steve Jones and guitarist Captain Scarlet. Navigating between the UK Subs punk ethos and wider accessible music, with many songs co-written by Slack and Scarlet, Charlie"s lyrics reflected the current political paranoia of an Orwellian future, alongside hedonistic punk tales of life lived and characters met along the road. The album successfully led the band to embark on decades of world tours and continue the now-legendary A-Z series of albums. Although the current band have given up lengthy tours, since Charlie"s 80th birthday they reconvene regularly for festivals and short tours - in the UK from October 4.

Bahnbrechende Scheibe für jeden Punk auf der ganzen Welt! THE PARTISANS kamen 1978 in Wales zusammen: Phil Staton am Mikro, Rob "Spike" Harrington an der Gitarre, Andy Lealand an der zweiten Gitarre, Mark "Shark" Harris am Schlagzeug und Mark "Savage" Parsons am Bass. Dieses Line-Up sollte sich schon nach dem ersten Jahr verändern, als Parsons und Staton die Band verließen, Rob das Mikro übernahm und Louise Wright als Bassistin dazu stieß. Beeinflusst von den SEX PISTOLS, THE CLASH und den RAMONES begann die Band damit, deren Stücke zu covern und eigenes Material einzustreuen. Im September 1981 veröffentlichten sie ihre erste 7" auf No Future Records und tourten im Anschluß mit BLITZ, THE EJECTED und PETER AND THE TEST TUBE BABIES...

Knochenfabrik sind zu langsam für die Bundesliga und erteilen gute Ratschläge jetzt von der Seitenlinie. Die inspirierende Corona-Pause haben sie sinnvoll genutzt (saufen am Laptop, Homeschooling, Quarantäne).
Hört man aber nicht, die 8 Songs wurden größtenteils in den wilden 10er Jahren komponiert.

"Sing sing death house" klingt nach der weiblichen Version früher RANCID-Platten - herrlich rotziger, melodischer Westcoast Sound, komplett ohne Ska Einflüße und dafür auch mal schön derbe nach vorne bollernd.

Als die Welt noch unterging ... war vieles möglich. Die Endzeitstimmung um 1980 gab Punk und New Wave erst den nötigen Schub. Sie sorgte für einen unglaublichen Ausbruch von Aktivität und Kreativität.
Vor dem Hintergrund des atomaren Wettrüstens der Supermächte USA und Sowjetunion glaubte niemand mehr an eine große Zukunft - daher schien plötzlich alles erlaubt, ohne Rücksicht auf Verluste.
